The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Arts and Science (Co-Education) College is a student-led initiative dedicated to promoting awareness about HIV/AIDS, blood donation, and healthy lifestyles among youth. Established under the guidance of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and supported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the Red Ribbon Club empowers students to become ambassadors of health and social responsibility. Our mission is to reduce stigma and discrimination related to HIV/AIDS and encourage informed, compassionate communities through education and outreach.
The club organizes awareness campaigns, poster presentations, street plays, rallies, quiz competitions, blood donation drives, and voluntary testing promotion programs throughout the academic year. Through seminars, peer education sessions, and interactive workshops, members gain knowledge about HIV prevention, reproductive health, substance abuse prevention, and gender equality. We collaborate with healthcare professionals, NGOs, and local health departments to ensure accurate information and meaningful impact in both the campus and surrounding community.
Joining the Red Ribbon Club provides students with opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and community engagement. Members develop communication skills, confidence, and a strong sense of social commitment while contributing to a healthier society. We welcome all students who are passionate about spreading awareness and making a positive difference. Together, let us stand united against HIV/AIDS and promote the message of care, support, and hope.
